The New Forest Coven was the first wiccan coven.
It was created in the mid-to-late 1930s, by low-ranking members of the Rosicrucian Order Crotona Fellowship,
in southernmost England.
Gerald Gardner was initiated into the coven in 1939, by the coven's high priestess Edith Woodford-Grimes, AKA Dafo.
In 1940, the coven performed a "cone of power" ritual that was inspired by the Golden Dawn,
in order to keep the germans out of England.
