Polytheism is the belief that there are multiple deities.
The word "polytheism" comes from the greek words poly" and "theoi, meaning "many gods."
Most ancient religions were polytheistic, holding to pantheons of traditional deities,
often accumulated over centuries of cultural interchange and experience.
Present-day polytheistic religions include, but are not limited to,
Shinto, Hinduism, Wicca (which is duotheist), Hellenismos, Asatru, and Odinism.
